What are these options?
- Hobby Box
- The full-size box sold through card shops rather than big-box stores. It has the most packs and the best odds, and most modern hobby boxes guarantee at least one autograph or memorabilia card. Pack and card counts vary by product line. Older listings sometimes call this a wax box.
- Blaster Box
- The small retail box sold at stores like Walmart and Target, usually the cheapest full box on the shelf. Autographs are not guaranteed, but many blasters carry exclusive parallels you cannot pull from a hobby box.
- choice
- Panini sells Choice as its own box tier, built around a single pack holding base cards, parallels and a guaranteed hit. The Choice-only parallels are the draw, and they carry the word in their names. Look for Choice Red, Blue, Black Gold and the one of one Choice Nebula, so the card itself tells you which box it came from. Autograph counts vary by product line. On this productChoice boxes carry 4 exclusive base parallels: Fusion Red and Yellow, Black Gold, Nebula and Peacock. Look for 2 autographs and 2 Choice-exclusive parallels per box.

Frequently asked
What makes 2022 Mosaic Baseball worth opening?
The main draw is the deep autograph checklist with three autos per hobby box on average. You're chasing rookie signings like Wander Franco and Oneil Cruz, plus veteran inks from Fernando Tatis Jr. and Juan Soto. The Mosaic parallels and opti-chrome design also give the base set plenty of chase appeal.
How many rookies are in the base set?
There are 80 rookies in the 300-card base set, numbered 201-280. They're mixed in with 200 current veterans, five 2021 Award Winners, and decade-specific subsets (1980s, 1990s, 2000s Stars).
What are the key rookie autographs?
Wander Franco and Oneil Cruz are the marquee names in Rookie Autographs Mosaic. Both have multiple parallel tiers, making them the most sought-after rookie autos in the product.
How do the Mosaic parallels work?
Base cards have 27 different parallels ranging from common colors like Silver Prizm (one per pack on average) and Red Mosaic (two per box) to rare numbered tiers like Gold /10, Black Holo /1, and Black Mosaic 1/1. You'll pull at least 12 base parallels per 10-pack hobby box.
What's the difference between Hobby and Choice?
Hobby boxes have 10 packs with 15 cards each and 3 autos per box. Choice is a premium variant with just 1 pack of 8 cards but guarantees 2 autographs and 2 Choice-exclusive parallels per box. Choice also features four exclusive base parallels not found in Hobby.
Are there any ultra-rare inserts?
Yes. Global and Ballistic are the toughest chase sets in the product. Both are described as rare short-prints. There's also Scripts, which has nearly 100 signers mixing vets and first-year players across multiple parallel levels.
What other inserts should I know about?
Longball Leaders, Men of Mastery, Swagger, and V-Tools are all named insert sets. Veteran ink finds a home in Autographs Mosaic, and all three autograph insert sets (Rookie Autographs, Autographs, and Scripts) have between three and seven levels of parallels.
When did 2022 Panini Mosaic come out?
