The set features a massive 100-rookie class. The biggest names are Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, Kawhi Leonard, Kemba Walker, and Klay Thompson. This double rookie class was historic for the hobby.
Q2What makes the Prizm technology special?
Every card is etched to bring a 3D look, which was new technology for basketball at the time. The Prizm parallels and Gold Prizm versions are especially sought after for their visual appeal.
Q3How many autographs come in a hobby box?
You get 2 autographed cards per box on average. The autograph set has 100 cards with Prizm variations, so there's plenty of chase potential.
Q4What's the base set size?
The base set is 300 cards total, with 100 of them being rookies. This gives collectors a lot to hunt for whether they're building sets or chasing specific players.
Q5What insert sets are in the product?
There are four themed insert sets plus the autograph set. USA Basketball pays tribute to the 2012 Olympic team, and Most Valuable Players features award winners. The exact odds on these aren't published, but they're part of the insert card pull rate.
Q6Is this a good entry point for vintage Prizm?
2012-13 Prizm is the first year of the brand in basketball and has become a classic. Sealed boxes are expensive now, but single cards of the key rookies are more affordable if you're looking to collect specific players.
