2023 Topps Bowman Baseball Hobby Box

What are these options?
- Hobby Box
- The full-size box sold through card shops rather than big-box stores. It has the most packs and the best odds, and most modern hobby boxes guarantee at least one autograph or memorabilia card. Pack and card counts vary by product line. Older listings sometimes call this a wax box.
- Hobby Jumbo Box
- More cards in fewer, oversized packs than a regular hobby box, usually with extra guaranteed hits. It suits collectors who want volume and hits in one buy. Topps calls this tier HTA, short for Home Team Advantage, its hobby-store program.
- Mega Box
- A mid-size retail box, bigger than a blaster and smaller than a hobby box. Mega-exclusive parallels are the main draw, and some megas guarantee a hit.
- Blaster Box
- The small retail box sold at stores like Walmart and Target, usually the cheapest full box on the shelf. Autographs are not guaranteed, but many blasters carry exclusive parallels you cannot pull from a hobby box.
- Retail Box
- A full box of the individual packs sold loose at big-box stores, often 24 of them. Same base set as the hobby version, with fewer or no guaranteed hits.
- Cases
- The factory-sealed carton a product ships in, holding a set number of boxes. A full case is the whole carton; an inner case is a smaller sealed block from inside it. Case buyers get untouched pack sequencing and a lower price per box. Some rare cards are seeded about once per case, which is what collectors mean by a case hit.

Frequently asked
What makes 2023 Bowman the start of prospect season?
It's the first major release of the year dedicated to young talent, featuring Chrome Prospect Autographs from over 100 players getting their first Bowman signatures. Collectors hunt for the biggest prospects like Druw Jones and Jackson Holliday before they become household names.
What's the difference between the base set and the Prospects checklist?
The 100-card base set is a mix of established MLB rookies and veterans on standard Bowman stock. The 150-card Prospects set focuses on younger, pre-MLB or early-career talent and comes in both standard Bowman and premium Chrome versions.
How many autographs come in a standard hobby box?
One autograph guaranteed per hobby box. If you want more, the Hobby Jumbo box contains three autographs and costs more but gives you 12 packs of 32 cards instead of 24 packs of 10.
What are the parallel tiers in this set?
There's a huge rainbow, from Sky Blue (/499) down to Red (/5), plus Platinum (1/1) and Printing Plates (1/1 each in Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow). Chrome Prospects also feature new Lunar Crater Refractors in various colors.
Are there autographs in the insert sets?
Yes. Select cards in standard insert sets like Bowman Scouts' Top 100, Rookie of the Year Favorites, and Bowman Invicta also have autographs, giving you multiple paths to pull signatures beyond the main Chrome Prospect Autographs.
What's exclusive to retail boxes?
Bowman Prospect Autographs are retail-only and use sticker autographs instead of on-card ink. Hobby boxes get the premium on-card Chrome Prospect Autographs instead.
Who are the cover athletes?
Druw Jones (Arizona Diamondbacks, 2022 second overall pick) and Gunnar Henderson (Baltimore Orioles) headline the set as the top prospects. Both are featured prominently in the Chrome Prospect Autographs lineup.
When did 2023 Topps Bowman come out?
It dropped April 26, 2023.
