Frequently asked
What makes 2021 Topps Archives special compared to other Archives releases?
This year celebrates Topps' 70th anniversary by pulling designs from every decade since 1957, plus a futuristic 2091 design. It's a broader historical sweep than typical Archives sets, which usually focus on three specific years.
What are the key rookie cards in this set?
Notable rookies include Ryan Mountcastle, Tarik Skubal, Trevor Larnach, JT Brubaker, Andrew Vaughn, Geraldo Perdomo, Spencer Howard, Jahmai Jones, Jazz Chisholm Jr., Ian Anderson, Will Craig, Daz Cameron, Kyle Isbel, Estevan Florial, Kris Bubic, Yermin Mercedes, Andres Gimenez, Jonathan India, Casey Mize, Akil Baddoo, Tanner Houck, Triston McKenzie, Nick Madrigal, Nate Pearson, Jo Adell, Garrett Crochet, Jake Cronenworth, Brent Rooker, Clarke Schmidt, Joey Bart, Luis Campusano, Brady Singer, Codi Heuer, Sam Huff, Sixto Sanchez, Jarred Kelenic, Alex Kirilloff, Alec Bohm, Trevor Rogers, Luis Garcia, David Peterson, Daulton Varsho, and others.
How do the parallels work in this product?
Base cards have eight parallel tiers: Rainbow Foil (/150), Green (/125), Silver (/99), Red (/75), Red Hot Foil (/50), Blue Foil (/25, hobby only), Orange Hot Foil (/15, hobby only), and FoilFractor (1/1). Autograph cards have their own parallel structures depending on the insert set.
What's the difference between Fan Favorites and Fan Favorites Premium Autographs?
Fan Favorites Autographs feature multi-generational players with strong followings and come with Purple (/150), Silver (/99), Blue (/25), and Gold (1/1) parallels. Fan Favorites Premium Autographs are the bigger stars, serial numbered to 50 or fewer, with only Gold (1/1) parallels.
Are there any notable variations or errors in the base set?
Yes, select base cards have additional variations drawing from the inspiration year of each design. The 1989 Topps Big Minis insert has an interesting quirk: unsigned versions were mistakenly printed with 'Topps Certified Autograph Issue' even though they weren't autographed, while signed versions have different card numbering on the back.
What's the box configuration and what should I expect to pull?
Each hobby box has 24 packs with 8 cards per pack. You'll get 2 autographs, 4 Peel-Offs, 4 Bazooka Shining Stars, 1 Draft Picks card, 3 Never Forgotten cards, 4 Movie Poster cards, and 1 Movie Poster mini poster box topper.
Which inserts are the hardest to pull?
1994 Topps Draft Picks is the scarcest at 1:24 packs. Movie Posters, Peel-Offs, and Bazooka Shining Stars all pull at 1:6 packs. The autographs are the real chase, with 2 per box guaranteed.
