2019 Topps Series 2 Baseball Hobby Box
What are these options?
- Hobby Jumbo Box
- More cards in fewer, oversized packs than a regular hobby box, usually with extra guaranteed hits. It suits collectors who want volume and hits in one buy. Topps calls this tier HTA, short for Home Team Advantage, its hobby-store program.
- Blaster Box
- The small retail box sold at stores like Walmart and Target, usually the cheapest full box on the shelf. Autographs are not guaranteed, but many blasters carry exclusive parallels you cannot pull from a hobby box.
- Retail Box
- A full box of the individual packs sold loose at big-box stores, often 24 of them. Same base set as the hobby version, with fewer or no guaranteed hits.
- Hanger Box
- The cheapest retail format, a slim box made to hang on a store peg. It gives the most cards per dollar and suits set builders more than hit chasers.
- Hobby Box
- The full-size box sold through card shops rather than big-box stores. It has the most packs and the best odds, and most modern hobby boxes guarantee at least one autograph or memorabilia card. Pack and card counts vary by product line. Older listings sometimes call this a wax box.
- Cases
- The factory-sealed carton a product ships in, holding a set number of boxes. A full case is the whole carton; an inner case is a smaller sealed block from inside it. Case buyers get untouched pack sequencing and a lower price per box. Some rare cards are seeded about once per case, which is what collectors mean by a case hit.

Frequently asked
What are the key rookie cards in Series 2?
Fernando Tatis Jr. (#410) and Pete Alonso (#475) are the marquee rookies. Both have base versions and multiple parallels including 150th Anniversary, Rainbow Foil, and numbered tiers down to 1/1 Platinum.
How many parallels are in this product?
Base cards have 11 parallel types: 150th Anniversary, Rainbow Foil, Gold (/2019), Advanced Stats (/150), Vintage Stock (/99), Independence Day (/76), Black (/67), Father's Day Blue (/50), Mother's Day Pink (/50), Memorial Day Camo (/25), and Platinum (1/1). Clear cards (/10) are exclusive to regular hobby packs.
What's the autograph situation in a hobby box?
You're guaranteed one hit per box—either an autograph, memorabilia card, or commemorative relic. It's a case-hit rate, so roughly 1 per 12 boxes. Hobby jumbo boxes guarantee 1 autograph plus 2 memorabilia or commemorative relics.
What makes the 1984 Topps Baseball inserts special?
They recreate the iconic 1984 design with new cards of current and retired players. Both Rookie and All-Star versions exist, with autograph and relic versions available. All-Star Relics are scarcer at 99 copies each.
Are there any exclusive inserts or bonus packs?
Yes. The Silver Pack program offers bonus packs of exclusive 1984 Topps Baseball Chrome cards to buyers from participating dealers, with randomly inserted autographs. Topps Reverence Autograph Patch cards (/10) are hobby and hobby jumbo exclusive.
How does Series 2 compare to Series 1?
Series 2 adds another 350 cards (for a combined 700-card set) and features players not in Series 1 to balance the checklist. Both series use the smaller 24-pack hobby box format instead of the old 36-pack standard. Series 2 introduces new inserts like Faces of the Franchise and Gary Vee's Top Entrepreneurs.
What's the deal with the 150th Anniversary theme?
2019 marks 150 years of professional baseball, so parallels, inserts, and commemorative relics celebrate this milestone. 150th Anniversary parallels are numbered to 150 and appear on base cards and most inserts.
