2018-19 Panini Select Basketball Hobby Box
What are these options?
- Hobby Box
- The full-size box sold through card shops rather than big-box stores. It has the most packs and the best odds, and most modern hobby boxes guarantee at least one autograph or memorabilia card. Pack and card counts vary by product line. Older listings sometimes call this a wax box.
- Cases
- The factory-sealed carton a product ships in, holding a set number of boxes. A full case is the whole carton; an inner case is a smaller sealed block from inside it. Case buyers get untouched pack sequencing and a lower price per box. Some rare cards are seeded about once per case, which is what collectors mean by a case hit.

Frequently asked
Who's 2018-19 Panini Select for?
The deep end. People buy this chasing top rookie patch autos and legend signatures, and the price reflects it.
What makes 2018-19 Select worth opening?
It's the rookie year for Luka Doncic and Trae Young, and you're guaranteed three autographs or memorabilia hits per box. Select sits between the base-heavy Prizm and the ultra-premium Spectra, so you get a solid mix of hits without the extreme price tag.
What are the key rookie cards?
Luka Doncic (card #25 Concourse, #122 Premier Level, #229 Courtside) and Trae Young (card #45 Concourse, #142 Premier Level, #249 Courtside) are the marquee rookies. Both appear across all three base tiers and in the Rookie Jersey Autograph inserts.
How does the base set work?
There are three designs: Concourse (most common, #1-100), Premier Level (tougher, 10 per box, #101-200), and Courtside (short prints, 2 per box, #201-300). Each tier has its own Prizm parallels, from common Silver/Scope up to numbered versions and 1/1 Black parallels.
What Prizm parallels should I know about?
Concourse has the most parallels, ranging from unumbered (Silver, Scope, Tri-Color, Zebra) to numbered tiers like Light Blue (/299), Red (/199), White (/149), Neon Green (/75), Tie-Dye (/25), Gold (/10), and Black (1/1). Premier Level and Courtside have their own parallel structures with Die Cut versions.
What's the difference between Select and Prizm?
Prizm is all about base cards and parallels with minimal hits. Select has way more autographs and memorabilia (3 per box guaranteed), plus the tiered base set adds rarity and design variety. Spectra is the premium option above Select.
Are there any other notable inserts besides Rookie Jersey Autographs?
Yes. In Flight Signatures feature on-card autos from stars and rookies. Sparks is a memorabilia-only insert. Top Selections highlights first overall draft picks. Global Icons and Phenomenon round out the chase inserts.
How many cards are in a complete base set?
300 cards total: 100 Concourse, 100 Premier Level, and 100 Courtside. Each tier has the same player roster but different designs and rarity levels.
