Frequently asked

What makes 2023 Topps Archives special compared to other Archives releases?
For the first time in years, there are no short-prints in the base set, making it easier to complete. The product also introduces new hobby collector's tins in throwback metal lunchboxes, each featuring a different all-time great and exclusive 1969 Topps Team History postcards.
What are the base card designs?
The 300-card base set draws from three decades of Topps: 1956 Topps, 1965 Topps, and 2003 Topps. Each design gets its own subset within the base set, and select cards have image variations with different photos.
How many autographs will I pull from a hobby box?
Every hobby box is guaranteed 2 autographs. These come from Fan Favorites Autographs (popular players from different eras), Fan Favorites Premium Autographs (bigger names, numbered to 50 or fewer), or 1989 Topps Doubleheaders Autographs (which feature two signatures per card).
What are the 3D cards and why do I need glasses?
1954 Topps Baseball 3D cards are inspired by vintage Tarzan sets and require the included pair of 3D glasses to view properly. Every hobby box comes with one pair of glasses, and you'll pull about 4 of these cards per box.
What parallel versions exist for base cards?
Base cards have seven parallel tiers: Rainbow Foil (/199), Green Foil (/99), Aqua Sparkle Foil (/75), Red Hot Foil (/50), Blue Foilboard (/25, hobby only), Orange Hot Foilboard (/15, hobby only), and FoilFractors (1/1). Pull rates vary by box type.
Are there any exclusive inserts in hobby boxes?
Yes. 1954 Topps Baseball 3D, 1989 Topps Doubleheaders, 1997 Topps Season's Best, and 1997 Topps Hobby Masters are exclusive to hobby and hobby collector's packs. Standard hobby boxes also include 1957 Topps Hit Stars, 1979 Topps Comics, and 1998 Topps Baby Boomers.
What's the difference between a standard hobby box and a hobby collector's tin?
Hobby collector's tins come in throwback metal lunchboxes with 10 packs instead of 24, yielding only 1 autograph instead of 2. They include an exclusive 1969 Topps Team History postcard and you won't know which tin design you're getting until you open it.
Can I find autographs on the insert cards?
Yes. Several insert sets have autograph versions with their own parallel tiers, including 1957 Topps Hit Stars Autographs, 1989 Topps Doubleheaders Autographs, 1998 Topps Baby Boomers Autographs, and 1969 Topps Team History Image Variations (autographed versions numbered to 20).
