What makes Synergy different from other Upper Deck hockey sets?
Synergy is built around ultra-low-numbered base cards and parallels rather than guaranteed autographs or memorabilia. Every base card is numbered to 19 or fewer copies, and parallels come in four colors (Red, Blue, Green, Purple) with varying print runs. It's a set-building challenge, not a hit-chasing product.
Who are the key rookie cards?
The Tier 3 rookies are the marquee pulls: Rasmus Dahlin, Elias Pettersson, Andrei Svechnikov, Brady Tkachuk, Carter Hart, Jesperi Kotkaniemi, and Eeli Tolvanen. These are numbered to just 9 copies on the base card and are the hardest rookies to pull.
How do the base card tiers work?
Veterans (#1-31) are numbered to 18, Legends (#32-40) to 8, and Rookies split into three tiers. Tier 1 rookies (#41-75) are /19, Tier 2 (#76-90) are /19, and Tier 3 (#91-100) are /9. The lower the print run, the tougher the pull.
What's the Bounty program?
Some Red parallels have Bounty codes on the back. Collectors who complete a full set of 100 Red cards with codes get an exclusive metal Cast for Greatness card. The first 50 to finish also receive a full set of Cast for Greatness Gold parallels (/10) that don't appear in packs.
Are autographs common in Synergy?
No. Autographs are 1:24 packs, which works out to roughly one per three boxes. This is a product for set builders and parallel chasers, not collectors primarily hunting signatures.
What are Cast for Greatness cards?
These are metal cards, not traditional cardstock, making them visually unique. They're among the toughest pulls at 1:67 packs. They come in regular and Black (/35) versions, and completing the Bounty program unlocks exclusive Gold parallels.
How many inserts should I expect per box?
Inserts land at roughly one per pack, so you'll pull about 8 inserts per box. These include Exceptional Talent (2 per box), PostSeason Perfection, Last Line of Defense, Significant Selections, and the rare Cast for Greatness metal cards.
