Who's 2023-24 Upper Deck Synergy for?
For collectors who want hits without Cup money. Figure on an auto or relic every box or two, with rookies you'll actually recognize.
What makes the base set so hard to pull?
All 125 base cards are extremely scarce. Veterans and Legends are numbered to just 14, while Rookies and Rookie SPs are numbered to 24. This makes even regular base cards a real chase, not just the parallels.
What's the bounty program and how does it work?
Half of the Red parallel base cards in each box feature a scratch-off code. Collect and redeem all 125 Red parallels at UpperDeckBounty.com. The first 10 collectors get a Gold base set (/25) plus a Gold Cast for Greatness metal set (/10); the next 15 get just the Gold base set (/25).
Which rookies are in this set?
The rookie section (#76-115) includes players like Ridly Greig, Logan Stankoven, and many other 2023-24 draft class prospects. Rookie SPs (#116-125) are a separate tier with Portrait Variations and autograph options.
What are the key autograph inserts to hunt?
Sygnatures (1:160 packs), Sygnatures Rookies (1:68 packs), and Greater Than Signatures (1:192 packs) are standalone auto sets. Base Purple Autographs are also numbered low (65 or less for vets, 35 or less for Legends, 99 or fewer for rookies).
Are there any new insert sets this year?
Yes, five debuts: Barnburners, Fearless Leaders, Flammable, Let's Goooooooo!, and Waffleboarded. All fall at 1:32 to 1:80 packs and have Spectrum parallels numbered to 25. Waffleboarded focuses on top goaltenders.
What's the difference between Red and Purple parallels?
Every pack has a Red parallel. Half of hobby Red cards have bounty codes; the other half are plain. Purple parallels are numbered to 99 or less and many feature autographs. Purple Autographs are tiered by player rarity.
How rare is Cast for Greatness?
The base metal card falls 1:56 packs. Cast for Greatness Signatures are much rarer, numbered to just 25. The Bounty program also awards a 36-card Gold Cast for Greatness set (/10) to the first 10 collectors who complete the Red parallel set.
